Tobi Sofa, a new design icon imagined and created by Elena Trevisan and produced entirely in Italy by the historic brand Rexite, tells of timeless elegance.
A sofa considerable in volume and sensuous in form. A design piece composed of contrasts in which multiple universes meet, a piece which, like a Zen Garden, coaxes those who take a seat into taking their minds off everyday life in order to achieve well-being.
‘The initial inspiration was the steppingstones of the Japanese Zen garden, called “tobi-ishi” (飛石).In Japan, before the tea ceremony, the visitor crosses the traditional garden walking on a stone path. Proceeding towards the tea house, guests are invited to leave their daily lives behind and mentally prepare for the ceremony to come. Tobi’s solid wood legs are conceived as the supports of these floating stones while the fluid forms of its seat return the mind to that state of relaxation experienced during the sensory journey‘. says Elena Trevisan.
Characterized by curved lines, just like the smooth tobi-ishi stones in Japanese gardens from which it takes its name, the Tobi sofa is a small work of architecture in which each element is both illustrative and functional. Supported by four legs of natural or lacquered solid wood, Tobi seems to float in the atmosphere.
Attention to detail, masterful craftsmanship, and maximum focus on comfort: Tobi invites you to sink into a softness that welcomes and supports the body, guaranteeing relaxation and true well-being.The soft fabrics enveloping the curves of the sofa enhance the sense perception it conveys.
A solid wood frame, technically removable wool and velvet covers, leather and eco-leather upholstery made with recycled PET collected from the ocean: these are the ingredients of this collection of sofas, available in three sizes, perfect for any kind of environment, from homes to hotels to offices to public lounges.
